A two-day retreat of softness, slowness, and sensory reconnection—through bread, body, and ritual.

SAVOUR is a two-day retreat for women—an intimate space of slowness, softness, and sensory connection. Held in the quiet countryside just outside Berlin, it’s a place to root back into your body and into a more natural rhythm.

We gather to bake bread—but not just to learn a skill. We mix, fold, and shape as a way of remembering: the power of touch, the beauty of softness, the wisdom of microbes, and the tenderness of being witnessed just as we are. In between the folds and the rising, we rest. We move, reflect, journal, and share. We soak in the scents of herbs, the glow of firelight, and the comfort of shared company.

This retreat is a slow unfolding. A way to reconnect with the ancient intelligence of your body. To honour your softness as strength. And to walk away nourished—by bread, by beauty, by the deep presence of your own being.

What does it mean to savour?

  • Invitation

We invite you to arrive as you are—soft or tender, curious or quiet. To dress in what makes you feel beautiful and at ease. To soak in nature, move gently, and reconnect with the rhythms of your body.

  • Experience

Over the course of two days, we move through the full process of sourdough—from mixing to folding to shaping and baking. These steps create the rhythm of the weekend, with spacious pauses for mindfulness, journaling, shared meals, and time in nature. We forage wild herbs, make butter by hand, paint, and reconnect through quiet moments and conversation. This retreat is a soft place to create, to feel, and to be nourished in every sense.

  • Tessa Straver is a food artist and bread baker with roots in the Netherlands. Her work explores the sensual and relational nature of food—especially the slow, living processes of fermentation, interspecies kinship and collaboration, and the sense of touch.
